Family-run property investment business JL Property Solutions provide funding to enable team of Type 1 diabetic futsal players to compete on the international stage in DIAEuro event.
Not-for-profit organisation The Diabetes Football Community (www.thediabetesfootballcommunity.com) has secured the financial backing of property investment firm JL Property Solutions to help fund the participation of the UK’s first exclusively diabetic futsal team to compete in the European Futsal Championships for people with diabetes, taking place in Kyiv, Ukraine, in July 2019.
Following on from the success of the UK’s inaugural participation in DiaEuro in 2018, JL Property Solutions has become one of the key sponsors enabling a team of diabetic futsal players to compete with other nations. The men’s tournament is open to those aged 18 or older who can prove via medical records that they live with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes. As well as providing a significant showcase for the talents of those who have overcome adversity to perform in spite of the condition, DiaEuro is geared towards raising awareness with over two thousand followers on their official Facebook account.
Speaking about the collaboration, TDFC founder and UK Team Captain Chris Bright commented: “The UK’s participation in the DiaEuro tournament in 2018 was a landmark achievement not only in a sporting sense but for those suffering with type 1 and type 2 diabetes who believe they are limited. As the project has continued to grow, we rely on the support of businesses such as JL Property Solutions to help us with the cost of things like kit, flights, meals, coaches and medical professionals to secure our continued participation. I’m sure I speak on behalf of my team when I say I’m extremely grateful for their support.”
JL Property Solutions’ Director, Josh Reeves, commented: “I’m delighted to be able to support such a rewarding enterprise such as The Diabetes Football Community in aiding the UK’s only all-diabetic futsal team to compete on the international stage. The work TDFC are doing to raise awareness and generate a peer-support network for those suffering with diabetes is exceptional, and the tournament itself will be an exciting sporting event.”
